Yeah, I guess we are going to have to predicate and end our posts with 5 or 6 smiley faces so that feelings don't get hurt. We wouldn't want to injure anybody's ego, or lower their self-esteem.

I'd settle for a little tact and class. I don't think that is too much to ask.
Tact and class is again, a personal preference just like resto mods on a classic. We live in America and this is the Internet.

So you are saying that calling people "knotheads" and calling their equipment a "POS" is showing tact and class? I'm glad my parents taught me better than that. Also, just because this is the Internet, that is no reason not to treat someone as you would treat them in person.

Richrom - Excellent post! That's what I consider class!

While most purists scorn those who make changes, the fact remains that when these cars were new a lot of owners made changes to enhance performance or personalize the look of their car.
Personally,I prefer to use the term "improved" when asked about mine.
It's an original,not a resto anything.
Yes,it's modified, but much improved over factory.
And if for some reason I ever sell, it can be brought back to original as all improvements were for the most part reversible.
But,it's tons more fun thisway ! Improved engine, ignition, cooling ,braking, steering, and road handling.

I am planing on doing a "restomod" on a '72 Pinto. Can't decide on the beefy 1.6 or a 7.3 diesel.

The diesel. And don't forget the turbo-charger. Oh, and a two-speed automatic.

And what's wrong with Pinto's !
They look bad a__ __ in Pro Stock trim.
My next project is a 72 Pinto with a full cage,289,C-4,4 wheel discs, fuel cell and some other goodies.
2500 lbs soaking wet with 400HP should be a hoot !

first off eleanor the real one is a 73 yellow mach 1, unique performance and shelby are just money hungry theives selling a car that costs 50 grand to build and selling it for 150k and then going and suing everyone they can get there hands on for building similar cars or even companys that build an eleanor clone and put gt500 stripes on there I mean carrol shelby spent his 84th birthday in court suiing everyone, yeah i can see people like big wheels but a mustang or any car that size is too small i mean wheels like that just overpower the appearance of the car not enhance it im sorry i was in design school for 2 years before joining the navy and thats just how it goes,

after my 69 i am building a 63 impala ss replica race car of junior johnsons #3 race car of the same year and i plan on taking an 05 gt with a salvage title, putting a boss 302 motor in there, manual steering and brakes, a watts 4 link on a moser 9 inch rear and a 4 speed toploader end and redoing the interior and exterior and building a race ready replica of the #16 george fullmer 69 trans am series boss 302 race car...talk about restomod, putting the old on the new...
