muffler recommendation - 1970 Mach 1
I have Flowmaster Super 40's and they are way too loud and create too much cabin noise too. That said, they sound badass. The only problem is I set off car alarms when I drive the Stang to work. I will be swapping them out, probably for 50's or Magnaflows. The best sound is under load and when you let full off....nothing like it.

I have a 66 with 302 and longtubes through 40 series with turn downs, theyre very loud.I set off alarms at school and im heard coming down the street so if you dont wanna rattle windows dont go that route i literally rattle my house when i back in.Magnaflows are best bet.

I have no resonance whatsoever in my car. The Flownmasters are perfect. Remember, they are allowing exhaust gas from a push rod engine to escape. The tone is pure muscle car. No popping or hollow throated belch. You start the car and it sounds just like everyones car sounded like in 1969. Deep, rich, and strong. No hint of cabin noise. "Bigga,bigga,bigga,bigga...you get half a woody while the cars at curb idle"
I took a look at what is already there and they are MEGNAFLOW. I had a friend do a normal drive by infront of my house and at 10-15 feet away I could not hear it. When I drive it the current inside noise level is like any new stock street car, pretty quite.
I need to measure the pipe size. I think it should be 2.25".
Seems like most of you like the Flowmaster 40.

the flowmaster 40s are fantastic sound, but I must admit that they're kinda loud
But as the 40s are the loudest they have, I'm pretty sure they'll have something for your needs

I agree the 40s have mean sound, just a bit over the top imo.
on edit: You don't mention if you have stock exhaust manifolds or headers. Might not be too loud with manifolds.

Ravins are probably hard to find now.
