Resetting the odometer by hand?
ORIGINAL: JMD
I know how to do it cause I saw it on a movie:
1. Jack up the rear tires, one tire will do if you dot have a limited slip.
2. Put the car into reverse, raise the throttle, and let the wheels turn backwards for a while.
3. Start kicking the sh** out of the front of the car untill it falls off of the jack, and races over a cliff, (I forgot to mention earlier, the car needs to be ---very close to a cliff).
4. You are done.

I want to reset the odo to 0 miles with my new engine. I know some people on here are going to say that's not the best thing to do. I've searcheda bit, and I've seen a couple of posts from people who said that they did it by hand spinning the digits, but none explaining how. If I sit there with an electric drill I'll be there for days. Can anyone tell me how to do it by hand?

But seriously, I found the safest way is from the plug on the back of the gauge. It's a b&^#% but it works. Just hook it to a drill and let it run on it's own.
