Someone had a bad day at "Ford" in 1967
I like cake, but if my steak looked like cake, my hamburger looked like steak and
my soda was in a cake shaped cup, I would grow to hate cake.
Look at Ford in the 80s and 90s: The Escort was different from the Tempo, ditto the Tee-Pot and Taurus, the TarAs$ and Crown Vic, The Vicky and Mustang, ect...ect...
All the Dodges and Chryslers look for the most part like Damit-Chysler fired the car exterior
designers and let the truck/SUV guys take over.
I say they should ALL (Frod, Chuvy, Dooge) look under the skin for why truck sales were up.
There is room for more than 4 midgets, theres rear wheel drive, theres good power and they have
some really nice appointments inside.
THAT is why truck sales are up.

Many of the 67's didn't come stock with the passenger-side torque box. IIRC, the small block cars did NOT come stock with these - hence mine does not have one as well. Couldn't tell yah about the 390 though...

They never had a problem changing body styles every other year back in the 60's. Now they have to run the same body style for 4 years or more? They have to make their "economy" car look like their muscle car? You can use different cues on different cars, but when you use EVERY CUE from one car to a totally different car, it kinda kills it. I think they all look the same and they all look dumb as *****.

its actuallyalot CHEAPERto run the same styles for a few years, if they'd leave **** alone maybe they'd make a buck (of course the car they leave alone would have not be a piece of crap to start with)

ford has been using "cheesy plastic" interior parts since pre-60's
i bought an old road and track from early 67, and they reviewed the 67 mustang, 67 shelby gt500, 67 barracuda,67 camaro, and 67 firebird
and they state "ford has continued to use the cheap plastics for its interior, although chevrolet has done the same, the barracuda has overall nicest interior"
not word for word, but something like that

i worked on a 06 mustang it had a odd ratttle in the driver door there was a small coffee can full of nuts and bolts with a note that said f you seen a folding lawn chair inside a f350 fuel tank. all i can tell you is ford goofed
My fastback doesn't have the passenger side torque box either. Factory small block.
That is good to hear, kinda. I thought I just had a bastard. Maybe that is why my roof oil-canned.
