Default Whats it worth?

My neighbour has a 65 Mustang sitting that me and my friend plan on buying and restoring. Its a 289 with a 3spd automatic. Newer rear quarter panel extensions. Missing the rear bumper and valance. Interior is in pieces. Looks to be almost all there. Engine and tranny are in it. No visable rust. What is it worth?

One thing i suggest.... not buying it with a friend, u will fight over who gets to drive or who owns it in the end. and who has put more $$ into it. u should both find one, and help eashother, because oneday, u might not be friends, and that stang will be a big problem -Jon

My opinion from the pics is 1000 bucks. It will take 3-5k in parts, 2-4k to get drivetrain together, 2-6k for body. So 7-15k to restore and alot of work. If it is a C code and all work is done well it will be worth the 12-14k. If it is A code you'll have a car that's worth what you have in it. If it is a K code, well then, make damn sure the work is RIGHT and it will be worth 2-3 times what you invest. It also may be a T code that some put a V8 in but I doubt it as it looks like it has been sittin a while.

This is just a Monday morning quarter back looking at it. I have almost 20k in my fastback but that included the I6 to V8 conversion with some upgraded parts. All numbers above would have a possible error of +-100%

I was looking at the same thing. Look under the hood and you can see the long, vertical valve cover?????

$500 tops. It's a sixxer, it's in pieces, and I'm willing to bet that you can find rust in the floor boards or cowl. Did you check for bondo?

I usually have a problem with cars where the trunk and hood are incapable of being closed. That typically means a lot more damage than just bent sheetmetal.
