Hey guys I'm looking to put a 4 speed in my 65 w 302 It has a 3 speed. Which 4 speeds will work? I have seen a lot of 4 speeds on ebay and craigslist. I just not sure what year model will bolt up. or will any Ford 4 speed tranny work??

im pretty sure the Borg Warner T-10 will work! atleast thats what they used on the 289 shelbys, so if it worked for them why not us?[8D]

 

I put a 4 speed toploader into my 65 289 fastback automatic. The toploader supposedly came out of a 69 Boss. After getting all the parts and pieces it went in like butter.

 

if ur swappin out might go the extra step and go for the t5 5spd and getht e original looking shifter for the t5 and ull be all set

 

no go with a 4 speed toploader, dont let the 5 speed peoples take you to the dark side

 

+1 I switched out the ol' C4 for a toploader 4spd and couldnt be happier. The are as tough as they come. DUMP THAT CLUTCH!!!![sm=gears.gif]

 

Get a top loader, a Borg-Warner T-10 is a modified 3 speed that has a nasty habit of destroying the 2nd gear syncros.
