Default heater box

Help!!. Whenever i've accelerated hard or revved the engine up high, antifreeze has been dumping out of the heaterbox. Yesterday it was very cold out and we tried to start her up and everything was steaming/smoking.

We had the hoses replaced awhile ago with lots of performance things and thought maybe they didnt connect the hoses very well.

It's leaking onto the passenger side toeboard.

Any ideas?
Thanks

I used to have the same problem, there is a little radiator inside the heater box and mine was leaking, i disconnected the hoses and connected them directly into the engine without going into the heater box anymore.

Your heater core leaks. The 'hose jumper' works only if you believe in Global Warming.

I don't know about the later models with the integrated AC, but the 65/66 heater core is a leisurelyone or twohour job if you're just changing out the core. I'd go ahead and install new seals and gaskets while I was in there.

yah what year is that car ?
you'll have it out pretty quick. Just disconnect the 2 hoses from firewall and then pull the core out of the heaterbox.
The replacement part is quite cheap.

I guess the others are roughly the same (mustangsunlimited, NPD ....)

if you have a radiator shop around the corner, they might be able to fix it for you.

farely simple install but yea you need a new core or eliminate it unless you need it.! i decided to get rid of the heater since in miami there is no need for it; therefore, i dont have to worry about interior leaks or what not!
