where is it being shiped from, we ship all our motors with either saia or central freight depending on where they are going because saia doesn't go to the same places as central. their prices aren't bad either but they require a loadingdock for pickup I think. we ship all of our small block engine with a 500lb weight rating including the crate.

thats why people opt to use chevy's for boat anchors since we all know they aren't good for anything else......

lol, right. I only know one thing good about chevys. This is my theory anyway. Chevys can hold a stick to Ford's bottom ends...... but Ford's TOP ends can learn a thing or two from chevy.

Thanks guys. This guy would not do anything to help me. I asked him in the begining if he could take it to a freight company and he said that I needed to take care of everything. If he were to take it, I'd save probably $350. Now that the crate is built the father said it can't be lifted easily.

Have you tried Old Dominion like I suggested earlier? If it is already crated up, have them pick it up and request residentail and liftgate service.

When I received my motor from Old Dominion, I backed my truck up to the edge of the liftgate and they rolled it right in using a pallet jack.

All the engine weight information I've ever seen has the 289/302 listed somewhere in the 465 - 475 lb range.

SBC's are only about 100 lb heavier than that.
