Default intake manifolds

Is there any benefit from using a later model ford aluminum intake over aftermarket?

i run a 4v on my 289 (650 cfm holley) and when i bought that i bought the edelbrock rpm performer airgap intake, better than a later model intake cuz cool air can flow under it and as we all know, cold air = POWA!!
