Default Kick down cable...

After getting my new carburetor, I haven't got my kick down cable hooked up because there isn't a spot for it.

I am not flooring it in drive. I am not floorig it from second. It's an automatic if you couldn't notice haha.

I am wondering how bad am I hurting my tranny? If I race I go from drive 1or if I feel like flooring it and go through 2nd and drive. How bad is it hurting it?

Thank you.

Im pretty sure your tranny would be toast if you dont have it hooked up. I was told to make sure it is hooked up and hooked up right or you fry your tranny quick!

assuming you have a an old tranny and not a late model aod then nothings being hurt it just will not kick down to a lower gear for passing automatically and it should be a rod not a cable

the cable on a late model its actually called a tv cable(throttle variance i think) and it adjust line pressure to keep everything in spec

Yea it's the C4 tranny. Just the "Drive" D2 and D1. And it'sarod yea notreally a cable. It's been fine and driving good, just like you said doesn't kick down a gear. Everyone says it's going to crap out but it's been 5 months or more since I have had the no kick down, and it's fine. Just it's leakin because I need a new pan gasket and filter.

I even went to the track nd it's still fine of course I put it in D1 then D2. Like I said it's been 5 months
and hasn't crapped out on me or isn't making any noise nothin.

So nothin is really being hurt THAT much?
