ya when i first got the stang that was one of the first things i got

it was cool but it was so freakin loud that u had to scream at ppl sitting next to you....switched to flowmasters and it definatly sound a lot smoother but still got that pissed off sound. like mentioned, if u want that loud as hell sound just get some flowmasters (or whatever u perfer) and get some collecter cut outs

that's what I was going to suggest. Get the quietest muffler you can find and then get some cut outs so you can have the best of both worlds.

I have Flowmaster 40's dumped under the car with full 3" tubes and it sounds wicked. It shakes the earth at an idle and straight up roars at throttle. If I stomp on it even a little I can be heard from a mile away easily.

or even better you could do that and get the cutouts with the electric controled butterfly to open and close it so all you would have to do is flip a switch...that would be AWESOME

I have glass packs on my 65 GT, it sounds really mean, but when it's idleing it has a low rumble. I thought I might run Flowmasters with electronic exhaust cutouts though, just because they give me a deeper tone. Or you could just straight pipe it, that's what we did to my friends F-350 with a 460 in it, you have to yell to even get somebody to hear you when your inside.

I'm pretty sure there are some sound clips of glass packs in the FAQ. I have Flowmaster's on mine and I love the "rumble" vs. the "volume" that you would get with glass packs.

Good luck!

I went from Dynomax mufflers to 2 chamber Flowmasters. I have 2.5" exhaust with an H-pipeall the way to the rear valance. If you go with strait pipe's it will be loud, but not good performance wise. If you go with an
H-pipe will be less loud and an X-pipeeven less loud. So if you want the best of both worlds, go with 2.5" pipe with an H-pipe and you should be happy.
