When I got my car, she had glass packs... Hence the name Lady Thunder. She's got Flowmasters now but they're nowhere near as loud or as mean. 'Course the glass packs were blown and then one rusted in half, so that might account for some of the volume...

My Bro has a 71 with glass packs. They rip and make it sound like a dragster. For my money I prefer the rumble of the flowmasters.

I don't think glass packs give that smooth cruisin' 'rumble' sound....but if your totally into that loud obnoxious rippin sound (like my bro)...then they might be the muffler for you...

if you want lud and cheap go glasspacks(i sett off every car alarm leaving school with mine) if u want loud with a litle more civilized sound go for a chambered muffler like flows

The size of the pipe is more important with glass packs than with turbo mufflers. Too small of a pipe will sound very raspy, while a properly sized pipe will give you a deep rumble with a lot of volume.

I have thrush glasspacks on my 68. They definately sound different. I'm thinking I might change back to a flowmaster type soon. Not sure yet though.
