The P heads have a different spark plug angle, so there are header clearance issues and the plugs are a pain to change from what I understand(I've never used them). Regular GT40 heads will work just as well, the difference in power ain't that much really and it'll work with the stock stuff you have, headers/valve covers etc, so for the lack of hassle the regulat GT40's might be worth the slight power loss to you. Some roller rockers wouldn't hurt either, but aren't necessary

i have another question not really specific to my hp dilemma. a friend told me that a surplus store not far from my local drag strip has a shed full of nascar tires. wondering if anyone knew the standards on these or if they would be good to use for 1/4 mile? Also i'm worried if stock clutch will hold up to them?

as far a suspension goes, i'm going to change all my bushings to a better material, get koni red shocks for the front, lift bars, andthicker sway barsfrom racer walsh.

NASCAR tires are sticky, but they have stiff sidewalls. Better than all-seasons, but no where near as good as drag radials.
