Default 1966 head light problem

my 1966 mustang convertible is having problems with the head lights. after i drive for about 10 minutes with the lights on they begin to turn off and on. there's no pattern to it just at random moments. any ideas? thanks

You're overheating the headlight switch. Replace it and all will be good.

Yep...weak switch.

While you're at it... consider rewiring your headlights to use relays. This little mod let's you put the full battery current to your headlights (rather than incurring the power drop fromrouting through your old wiring harness) while still operating normally.

It's really a simple mod and can be completely hidden.

The first thing I would do would be to check the ground wires. Clean up the contact, etc., then if that didn't do the trick replace the light switch.
