Default Quiet Thunder - Muffler Question

I really like the sound of the new generation Mustang GT. They are quite at idle but have a deep and serious sound when pressed.

Anyway, I'd liketo approxiamate that sound in my '66. The flowmaster's 40 and 50 series are too loud for my tatse. I know sound is very subjective but has anyone put on a muffler that most wiveswould approve of? Or the neighbors don't hear me from downt the street?

Anyonetried Bassani on their 65 or 66? Or Middas' Tubos (supposedly quiter than the Ravens which - for me are too loud - and they have been discontinued anyway)? Or any other brand recommendations would be much appreciated.

I've listed to Glenn'smuffler clips but it is still difficult to judge sound quality from afar.

Thans

Have you thought about running a 40 series with cherry bombs before the flowmaster? It quiets the noise a bit and gives it a very deep roar when you stab it. I had this set up on my 92 F150 w/5.0.

I think your best bet would be to double up on the mufflers. But there a saying that goes "If it's too loud, then your too old". Just a little food for thought.

Go to your local Ford dealer. Ask for the muffler off of a new Mustang. Or, you're sure to find a take-off in the New Edge or 05+ arenas.
