Yeah, the monte carlo bar and the export brace are the two cheapest ways to stiffen up your front end. Where I used to take curves at 40 when they were marked 40 mph, I can now take them at 60. I just punch Ol' Yeller in the middle of the curve so when I come out of that marked 40 MPH curve, I am going over 70. Damn, I love driving on back roads.

glen, i still dont get why you punch it in the middle of the curve. When i do that, it pushes my car forward, and when i let off the car goes around the curve much better. I've always wanted to ask you that.

On a rear wheel drive car with some power, whenever you approach a curve, let off the gas totally, then when you are right at halfway through the curve you punch it, the force will sling you through the 2nd half. You have control of the car when you do that. Take your car out on some curvy road and try it. I think you will like it.

Well, i do that, i let off then punch it through the last half of the curve, i keep thinking you was talking about punching it through the whole curveand that doesn't work.I've tried, and ended up with some damage......[:@]

I remember your wreck. No, it's just the second half that you punch it.

How a car handles in a turn will also be impacted by F/R suspension bias and traction adding devices(lockers/posi etc). If the front is soft in relation to the rear you get push(understeer) and if the front is stiff in relation to the rear you get oversteer. Also posi and especially lockers will give the car VERY noticable understeer. My Richmond Powertrax(which gives monster traction) locks the axles when you give it throttle, so it tries to push coming out of a turn and on highway curves quite noticably, posi does this as well, but it's generally not noticable unless you have a very high bias setup in the unit. Ideally if you have a good suspension setup/bias you should be able to go into the turn hard, braking until the apex, then throttle out and go into the straight already accelerating under power, and using the brakes/throttle to help control how the car steers and taking the curves quicker. That's why I like flying through curves that way when ricers think they're gonna chase down some old beater looking 67 Mustang and pass it up, only to find themselves getting left in the dust. Sucks to have FWD, but it ain't my car

just detailed the engine bay a bit and added a new curved chrome monte carlo bar. LOVE the added look the chrome gives it. Didnt add the export brace at this time, unsure if/when that will be.

Havent taken her for a spin yet, will I notice much/any difference in the way the car handles????
IMHO you should haave installed the export brace first. It provides more strength than the Monti-Carlo bar.
