nice car, congratulations

if you get headers, carb and intake you may wish to lose the exhaust trumpets and just get some nice stainless tips out thru the valence. the trumpets are very restrictive.

Has it got disc front brakes? If no, I'd be doing that for sure. decent springs, shocks and make sure all the ball joints and bushes are in good order.

good luck

ORIGINAL: my77stang

that thing is so purdy, seriously - nice car dude.

i read something about headers and how they dont last, this is true if you get cheapys - but if you pop for the ceramic coated boogars they will look SO much nicer and they wont rust on ya for a lonnnnnng time.

+1 on the performer rpm airgap and a 600 cfm carb. im a holley design person myself, a model 4160 would work great, or even a barry grant road demon 625 if you wanna spend another 100 or so on the carb.

btw, summit has a sale on cams right now, a cam/lifter kit for a little over 60 bucks. the 218/228 .471/.471 works great with stock heads and give ALOT more low/mid range power
He's trying to keep it as stock as possible. He just wants a few extra ponies. That can be achieved with a period correct 4V intake and an Autolite/Motorcraft 4100 4V carb setup. The mild cam advice of course is good, but to throw a big assed shiny Holley carb with an aftermarket air cleaner won't keep that engine bay looking original.

Very nice car. I'm surprised someone hasn't said anything about the ride height yet. She looks ready for a flood! Idon't see how your front tires are catching the fenders, there is like a 5 inch gap bewtween them. I say get some new rear leafs and front springs to lower her to a better stance.

Is that a cloth dash pad I see? Is that what came in the first ones?

No the rubbing is happing on the rear driver side. It is already cutting into my tire. The tires are Daytona SR Front = P 205/50 R15, Rear = P225/60 R15.

As far as "The Club" being an effective theft deterent....it ain't.

I have a couple of cop friends and they said that during the rod runs a few years back that several cars were stolen and a couple had the club in place.

They simply got a big pair of bolt cutters and cut the steering wheel. WHAMO!!
