I suppose if you really wanted to know what your factory temp gage was registering, you could go buy a new Temp sensor (5 bucks at Autozone) and test it using a pan of water on the stove, an DVM, and a kitchen thermometer. Hook up the temp sensor to the DVM to measure resistance. Then put into the water and slowly raise the water temp....recording the resistance values as it passed 160, 180, 190, 200, 210.....

Then install the temp sensor in your car and bring it up to operating temperature. Using the same DVM hooked to it, you could monitor the Ohms as they passed the predetermined...and you could note the location the sweep gage.

or, you could just go buy a $10 gauge from WalMart or JCWhitney and hook it up the supplied sender to another port in your intake and measure the temp to see the readout and then see what the dash gage says.

I agree..mechanical gauges are more accurate, but I had messing around with that copper tube for the water and plastic tube for the oil. The electricals make for a cleaner looking install.

That's exactly the same thing I did...bought the plastic rear mount frame and mounted autometers.

I bought a set of those Equus gages to install in the assembly... My opinion/experience with them was that they were cheap POS's.... I'm very happy I changed to Autometers.

Probably just my bad luck then. I bought a set and the Voltmeter had a dead short internally. Like to have never found that problem!...
