vin code help
Hey everyone,
whenI bought this car I didnt find anything but the vin number on the car ,but the other day whenI finally stripped the engine compartment I found a plate with the cars VIN number on it .It had been rivited to the fenderwall under the battery tray? I'm sure the P.O. put it there.Anyway,I've been to the decoders in the FAQ but there are some letters and numbers thatI can find no codes for. Here is what the tag looks like
OF02F19**** 63B 1 90
TA AC PB
IDGRM
BTRAC
A-27
I cant find anything on the 90 ,TA ,AC, PB, IDG, RM, BTRAC ,A-2 or the 7
any help would be appreciated
Thanks Jeff

You are looking at what is called the 'buck tag'. Decoding it is not easy as it was mostly an internal tool use to tell the assembly line guys what to do to the car. Some are easy: like PB is probably power brakes; AC = air conditioning; the 90 I think is a sequence number; the rest is unknown to me. Those tags were used on Dearborn and Metuchen Mustangs, not San Jose. If you want the full info on your car try www.martiauto.com Kevin Marti bought the Ford assembly database and for a fee ($30 and up) can provide a bunch of data.
