so when i drive my car its fine it runs about 1/4-1/3 of the way on my temp guage when i am driving but everytime i kill the motor it boils over but never while its running can someone help me with this

Whats cooling the motor besdies coolant?Answer=Fan Question= when is a mechanical fan on? Answer=when car is on.. Its cuz u kill the car and the fan turns.Me and a friend were talking about this the other day.

ya u can upgrade to electrical fans and also be able to pull a couple ponies from that too. i think so models you can buy will continue to stay on a couple mins after the engine quits.....ill look around the net for a bit

Do you have a closed system? A coolant recovery tank? It is designed to accept the overflow, then when the motor cools down..the coolant gets sucked back into the radiator.

I have a flex fan and a closed system(overflow tank) and don't lose any coolant or overheat(and it can get over 110 in the summer regularly around here). The boiling over may be the pressure relieving itself from the overflow fitting where the cap screws on. If you have no overflow, either get an overflow resevior, or you need to switch toa radiator cap designed to be used without overflow reseviors.

i have heard get an overflow tank should i start there cause i was gunna buy a bigger rad upgrade to a 3 row (buddy works at rad shop uber cheap) but i would rather get it workin with the stocker but it only started this after i got my cam in

Maybe the gauge is not accurate and you are running hotter than you think. You need at least a 3 row anyway.

i know all i have is the stock 2row so i think i am gunna get one after i get a refreshed tranny in cause the way that third gear is slippin its gotta be causeing way more heat
