Default tranny problems

i have a c6 automatic trans. i put the car in drive and it will move but only about 3 mph. reverse works just fine... any suggestions? im gunna pull the tranny and see if i can figure out whats wrong with it but my tranny knowledge is limited. My second thought was maybe the torque converter... but would that effect reverse? can anyone help out?

I would take the car (or just the trany) to a reputable rebuild shop because I don't really know squat about rebuilding anauto trans. A C-6 rebuild should be fairly cheap these days.

Damn $1500.00!!! That is insane for such an old trany. I have not done a lot of stuff with Fords, but damn, I can get GM turbo 350's and turbo 400's rebuilt around here for about $500.00 installed.

Does it really cost that much to have a C-6 overhauled?

For $1,500, I would learn how to rebuild a C-6, I had no idea!
