Default New Guy Alert

Here is a present that my wife got me....

According to the VIN here is the info on it..

Year: 1967
Plant: San Jose, CA
Body Series: Hardtop
Engine: 200 1v I6 (Currently has a 302, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, Edelbrock manifold covers and Edelbrock headers)
Color: Satuerne Gold Metallic
Trim: Lt. Ivy Gold Crinkle Vinyl & Ivy Gold Crinkle Vinylt; Standard Interior
Date: August 29, 1966
DSO: Dallas...Not sure what this block means? Is this who ordered the car from the San Jose Plant????
Axle: 2.83:1, Conventional (No idea what is on there now)
Trans: C4 Automatic

It has obviously been redone. The first thing I am goign to do to it is put disc brakes on the front (any recommendations?? $1300 budget, can put them on myself) and looking at power R & P steering...It is a blast to drive and I am going to have a lot of fun with it

Welcome to "the people that drive 67 Mustangs and spend all thier money on them" club! You can do a disk swap for less than $700 easily, leaving you with some gas money or something. You're going to need it!

DSO stands for the distribution point. The factories send the cars to these holding areas, and the dealers order from there.

DSO = Domestic Service Order, the district is a two diget number. If you got four more numbers, the car is a special order for that district. It could be a customer's requirements or a Ford Marketing special. The normal San Jose distribution included Texas and points West, but Dearborn shipped to Los Angeles so who knows. It was which plant had the capacity and parts.
