Default a little trunk work today

I couldn't handle the trunk being a dull white so I spruced it up today. Let me know what you think. I have never seen this done. I had a roll of bituthane laying around and I thought that would work great in the trunk. Bituthane is used to isolate a product from ice and water. It is sheet rubber with an adhesive on the back side. I took the factory rubber mat that lies on top of the gas tank and put that down first, I then layered the whole trunk with bituthane. Then I used rubber undercoating and sealed everything that wasn't covered with bituthane. I then took the old plaid mat and put it back in. I see I need to order a new one or carpet because this one has seen it's better days.

Looks like you now have a giant beer cooler in the trunk if you ask me!

Thanks Richard. I was actually thinking of doing the supersnake stripe but my friend who helped paint the car said it would have been more difficult. I like yours because it not everyday that you see that combo. You have an awesome mustang.

David, wouldn't it be funny to pull into a tailgate party and pop the trunk full of ice and beer. I can picture ice all the way to the top

Wait a few months, then check for rust on top of the gas tank. I sure hope you don't have a way for water to get in and get trapped.

[align=left]I hope not either. I siliconed the tank down when I put it back in. I seam sealed before paint too. The only way would be from the top. I had to pull the trunk weather seal because it was making my deck lid do the funky chicken. I couldn't get it to seat properly and now it does without the seal. I will have to improvise and use some adhesive backed foam.

Speaking of sealing the trunk, I have two quarter panel drains that came with my rubber kit. They are square pieces with a rubber valve. How do these install. Anybody have pics?
