Default Bigger Radiator?

My 67 hardtop has the original radiator in it. The problem is that it originally came with a 200 and when the previous owner swapped that for a 302, they didn't put a bigger radiator in there. It hasn't overheated, but the temp gage definitely goes up a little if I am sitting in traffic and it's warm out.

I have heard of people modding their engine compartments to fit bigger radiators in there. I think I saw somewherethat someone put a radiator from a 70 fastback intot heir 66-67 engine compartment...not sure though. I also saw the "becool" radiator in this months Mustang & Fords.

Any recommendations?

The Becool radiator is an aluminum one, and if you have the funds, that is the way to go. However, the 3 and 4 row copper/brass radiators are adequate. So, price them and see which way you want to go.

Thanks....I am going to go ahead and get the Be Cool radiator. It's a tad pricey, but I am willing to pay for the peace of mind...

Good choice. Others have opted for other brands of aluminum rads, but the BeCool is one of the best so you should be set for many years to come.

I think the Be Cool units, as are the other name brands.... are grossly overpriced for what you get. You can get an AFCO unit that will fit with an afternoon's worth of fabrication, or you can spend 2.5 time and be done.

What would I need to fab the AFCO model in?

I justbent upsome lower brackets out of 1/8" steel and used clip nuts to secure to the core support. These were oversized to accomodate rubber insulation (not shown).

On top, I used threaded rods with rubber bushings for isolation dampning.

ok not to hijack but here is actually a bigger rad question there is a guy i know and he somehow came into possesion of a rad (3row) for a 67 (same year as mine) but this is the rad for the big block no could i mount the bigblock rad in place of my small block rad cause my small block rad has those things on each side to fill in the air gaps

You should be able to...with the proper lower and upper brackets and radiator hoses.
