leaf springs
hey guys, so my 67 has the stock leaf springs on it now ( 3 leaf i believe).
im looking to raise it about an inch or so, maybe a little more and also i want a stiffer ride with better handling. I plan on changing the leaf springs soon but my question is what should i go with? would a 4 leaf be good or should i get 5 leaf? and should i get reverse eye or mid eye? any input would help me out, thanks.

Reverse and mid eye will lower it. 99.9% of mustangers want to lower the rear, not raise it. You currently have 4 leaves. A stiffer ride would be the 4 1/2 or 5 leaves. In order to get a little better handling, keep the rear low and get an anti-sway bar back there.
I would get the stock replacements for that year. They will be brand new so it will give you a higher ride hieght and it will be stiffer. That is what I did with my car. I also replaced my front suspension with stock replacement parts. Make sure you get a beefier front sway bar and you will be good to go. You don't need the rear one. I actually took mine off.
Go to Flex-A-Form.com and look at their single leaf fiberglass springs. Saves about 40lbs. of unsprung weight and does away with the 'stickction' (sticking friction) caused by the multi leafs sliding across each other. This is felt as harshness in the ride.

In my case not a lot of room under a 66' rear coupled with 2.5" exhaust, electric fuel pump and all. Would sometimes hit parts of undercarraige. Figured my car is a straight line runner not a road course car. Probably a different senario on a 67' and up.
In looking at your picture it appears that your rear leafs are sagging considerably.
A standard eye (normal ride height) leaf spring will raise the car a little since it will no longer be sagging.
Replace your shocks at the same time.
I personally like 4.5 leafs for street purpose cars.
