Default dash lights

I have a stock 66 mustang coupe. Problem is I have no dash lights. Turn indicators work, high beam indicator works and courtsy lights work.

I have detirmined that my constant voltage regulator is cooked, would the effet my dash lights? If not what would be the problem? Yes all bulbs are good.

There is a 2.5 amp fuse in the fuse panel that protects the wiring from short circuits. Replacing the fuse would be the first thing to do. If it blows again, you got a wire shorted to ground. The constant voltage regulator only provides low voltage to the fuel and temperature guages, and nothing to do with thelights.

Had similar prob with a 67 coupe and no dash lights. After replacing bulbs, checking fuses, etc. the solution was to clean the contacts on the light switch itself. Everything worked after that. You may need to clean the light switch or replace but do the fuse check first...good luck...

Fuses are good, so are the bulbs, I bought a new light switch so I will replace that and see what happens.

After you turn your lights on, twist the **** on the headlight switch. There is a built in dimmer on the switch so you can adjust the brightness of your gauge lights at night.
