Default Recommended primer for upper cowl?

Will the regular old rustoleum primer work for a couple years of storage with no exposure to the elements?

This is not intended to be a long term fix situation. Just for storage. Also, I need aerosol primer as I do not have access to an air compressor right now.

Thanks!

(The reason Im asking is because, from what I understand, the upper cowl is galvenized and typical primer wont stick to it. (apparently). ) This seems true becuase the PO did a cheap paint job and this area alone can be removed in large flakes by hand right now.)

I intend to paint on top the primer immediately. I didnt mean to imply that I was going to store it with just primer there.
