Default Granada brake users?

For all you people running Granada's up front, what kind of rotors are you using? I was going to just get smoothies and normal pads from a local shop but when I compared the price, this setup is only about 70 bucks more.

Autozone Granada brake rotors are $40 each. So $100 for rotors and shoes. Sure cheaper than $249.

Besides, drilled & slotted rotors are overrated. They are another example of taking a speciality racing application (one that probably gets swapped every out every 500 miles) and implying that 'if it's good for the racetrack, it's good for the street'. I don't buy that. Long time usage of these drilled rotors (several thousands of miles) could lead to fatigue cracks and premature disc failure.

Now, if you want them for the Cool factor..then pay the premium and go for it.

only problem with drilled/slot rotors is if you buy them from a 3rd party like them on ebay someone drilled them if they did it wrong youll crack or bust it. jamesw the drilled/sloted rotora rotors on my 240sx had 9k miles on them no cracks when i sold the car

I agree with the drilled comments, but slotted rotors plus an upgraded pad will make an improvement you wont believe. (I'm not talking race spec pads, just an upgraded street pad.)

For rotors and pads locally, its 178, not 100. Thats just my area though.

The listing I was looking at is 250 and the seller is on MF. He offered me a discount on shipping, only 10 bucks if I remember right. so 260. Rotors are garaunteed not to crack or will be replaced free of charge. So its 88 bucks difference between the two.

the only problem with buying new part or speciality parts from ebay is................ that person is on ebay right now a month later and he is gone and if you rotors crack or break you are out of 260 dollars but if you buy regular rotors and better pads from the auto store then you have the lifetime warranty and piece of mind .... just my 2cent

Plus there is a bit of exaggeration (some might call it salesmanship) involved. Remember the words of P. T. Barnum - 'there's a sucker born every minute'.

That ebay guy has been on there for years with great feedback. I've purchased from him before with great service. Also, as stated before, the seller is also a Mustang Forums member so he's cool, like us...
