Default some quick help please

I was putting my drive shaft back on and I noticed the u-joints are a tad too large for the new yoke on the 9". Can I get new u-joints with smaller caps and put those caps on my existing u-joints? Are the machined stub shaft on the u-joints all one size and the needle berings different? Or, do they make a u-joint for this application? Also. my damn drain plug is froze. I can't even get it out with a impact. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you're going to need a 1310 to 1330 conversion Spicer U Joint. Take some measurements and head off to the parts store.

you can get a new u-joint with the proper cap size and with. Just measure and call your local dealer. Combo u-joints are not uncommon.

Go to NAPA. They can measure the old caps and get you the right part. I just did this for my 67 and the driveshaft caps are smaller than the diff. caps. Don't risk using the old caps on the new joint.
