Ok , the best i can do is 1 of 41 , now here comes the but , if you are breaking down every little detail like factory luggage rack on a 429 cj , you are going to find many 1 of 1 cars. if you are just talking rare cars , that is a whole different can of worms ! Superdavid : lot's of cars had custom colors , but they probably made thousands with your engine , tranny , and rearend combo. White69 , Aussie and Atom , the Z code 429 was built for 2 years and they made 1350 of them . 66GTKFB , they made over 7800 K codes from 1965 to 1967! I have a car that was only buillt one year for three months , it's an X code , only 733 of these ever left the factory only 476 coupes built like mine with a 390 2V and C6 auto and if you throw in the color , Highland Green it's one of 41 and if you include the 20 of 25 available options , it is one of one on several counts. As for the Green Hornet , there were many " show" cars and "executive" cars ,like that , which none of us would ever have the option to buy , hell there was even a code B 240 1V taxi with a c4 built in 1968 acording to Kevin Marti's book. So there is the " but ". Mine ,however ;you could have walked in and bought in 1968and it is truly one of 41 , not counting all the BS and options you could have ordered or have added on since built. Lets face it , if ya got the duckets , Ring Brothers can build you a one of one today. Regards , Bill.

eleven thousand two hundred and twenty eight mustang pace cars have been built . Of those 11,189 could have been bought by the general public , that is 10999 from 1979 and and 228 from 1964 ......... 228 built is indeed a rare car! I would check the paper on those steeds , it is estimated that 10 coupes still exist and the only verts are assumed gone. ( pardon me if i am in error, i am quoting books and sources on line , obviously i can not prove this stuff.)Bill

In 1964 there were 35 convertibles and 190 hardtops made into Pace cars. They were all 260 CID with automatics, power steering, special paint and decals, some never installed. On the radiator support was 'PACE' etched by acid. I was at a swap meet and a lady showed up in a 64 hardtop and wanted to know what the decals ment. On her radiator support was the acid etched word. It got as much attention as a Boss 302.

I just remembered the member's name. It's SDgrant and I'm pretty sure he has documented proof of it being real.

I just got a call, someone is looking over my shoulder; 64 Pace car convertibles were different than the hardtops. There were three 'K' code 4-speeds (used at Indy?) and the rest were 289 4V, all painted Wimbledon White. Some were automatics and some were 4-speeds, some had a red interior, some had blue. All are lost, hiding out there in someone barn.
