Thanks a ton men. I am content to tweek what I have for the best it will do, and turn my attention to the Randalls Rack I intentd to install at some point. 6100 rpm will have to do. I appreciate you sharing your experience. If I needed more, I should have started with something other than that 289. Displacement... There is no substitute.

that 289 is perfect for winding up high you just need some headers to let that thing breathe better. i agree you could choose a cam with a larger power range, but i also agree the 1.7 rockers should be helping you out there too.

A good set of valve springs. Gotta have'em for high RPM's. I doubt mine would spin past 6200 without them. Just my 2c.
