Default Shelby Drop complete!

I did the Shelby Drop on my 70 and it looks great! The height is exactly where I want it. The only issue I have is that the front end is sagging more than it did stock. Can somebody give me some advice of what I should do to correct it? Do I need to just install a shim kit in the upper control arms to bring the top of the wheel out? Is this something that a good alignment can take care of? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you need to get the front end aligned. Try to find a shop that knows how to shim these old dinosaurs.

Is your problem mostly that the car is too low or that the camber is visibly "off"?

Preferably find a shop with either an older tech or a place that has some understanding of tuning for cornering/handling.

Or learn how to do the job yourself, especially if you want to experiment with settings that are outside the ancient OE spec ranges. It's not nearly as difficult as the $$$$$ alignment rigs make you think it is, and you can make your own digital camber gauge that's good to 0.1° for a little over $40. With a little math, you can use it to compute caster. Don't forget that changing camber will change the toe. I've got a couple of write-ups in much greater detailif you're interested.

WOW! Thanks for the tips.To answer Norm'squestion; the camber isvisibly off. The height is perfect. I'll probably just take it to somebody that knows older cars.If you don't mind, can you send me some details on how to align it myself? Thank you again.

Can anybody send me the camber/caster/toe adjustment specs for a 70 Mustang? I have spoken to a few alignment techs and they are all requesting these specs. If anybody can help I would really appreciate it.

Check out these two websites for specs:

I used the ones from Daze cars and it was good to go...

John Dinkel knows what the heck he is doing too.
http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/

They are basically the same setup...

You didn't read everything about how to do the Shelby drop before you did it? You're a bad, bad boy. You can find the specs in this article.

PM me with an e-mail address. It's a Word document. The version that you want is not early-Mustang specific. But it is written for SLA suspensions and mostly discusses the measurement process anyway.

I believe somebody was requesting some pics. Here's some pictures I just took today. On one of them you can really see how the front end is sagging now. It's drivable, I just don't want to mess up my front tires. (Let me know if the pictures don't show up!)

This picture below you can really see it sagging.
