Default got more curious about my engine (decoding)

now that it got obvious that my engine didn't have a trouble free past i got more curious about it.
so i started to decode the numbers on it:
on short block:
C6AE-6015-C
6A11
from what i understood (http://www.classicmustang.com/decoding_part_numbers.htm) it would mean:
c=60s
6= 1966
A=GALAXY <--- hmm.. so it is not the original mustang engine at all
E= engine

6015= basic part number
C= "This indicates what application the basic part is used for. For example - "A" is for a 289/302 motor, whereas a "C" is for a 351C, 4v motor"
so if iunderstand this correctly on that coding page it would mean it is an 351C,4v ??????? and not a 289 ?

the date code 6A11= jan 11 1966

ok.. going to my instake:
C5OE- 9425-B
5D2

C=60s
5=1965
O= fairlain /torino
E= engine

9425 =partnumber
B= i don't know

all in all it sounds like somone has been to the junkyard and put the engine together with parts he could find?

Nope, that 'Galaxy' block was used on all Ford and Mercury product lines up until 1968, Mustang included. All it means was the first application of or designed for. The first designed for Mustang engine was the 96 Boss 302. The same situation on the intake. The 65 and 66 Mustang 225 HP 'A' code distributor was first used on a Comet.
