Default seat covers...again!

I had my wife drop by two upholstery shops and get an estimate of re-doing one front bucket to my 68 coupe. Both said $400.00. One told her if I got the covers from Mustang plus, he would put both bucket seat covers on for me for about $300. Is this about what I should expect? My restoration book briefly shows how to recover a bucket seat, but maybe their is more to it than what I want to tackle...any thoughts? Also, how can I get a picture of my car from my camera phone to this site? Thanks

Slipping a cover over a bucket seat and snapping on several hog rings is an easy task. I did my seats both front and back in one afternoon, and I am a musician. If I could get 300 bux to cover a mustang seat, I would be rich within a week.

Soaring is right....that's a lot of green to give someone to upholster front seats. My son and I did our whole interior by ourselves and we were complete noobs at this. The process is relatively easy and kinda fun. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. Then you and the wife can celebrate with the $$$ y'all saved from doing it yourself!!! Enjoy...

Do it yourself!!! Buy the entire interior Kit for 300 and do it.. To make it easier on yourself, lay the covers out in the sun for a couple of hours inside out to soften them up and then put them on.. It takes all the creases and wrinkles out.. and makes the cover a little easier to work with..

Seems that this days everyone knows the incrising value of classics cars and repairs shops woners are no exception, not only it is difficult to find a knowledged technician but also the prices for the most simple work is becoming more and more expensive..$300 for installing bucket seats cover is the perfect example..I agree with the others, do it your self is not to difficult you will be glad you did so you wallet

Buy a can or two of vinyl dye and dye them yourself. That is a no-brainer.

+1 on doing it yourselve. Buy new seat buns as the old ones are probally toast and have no shape. Here some pic's on how mine came out. I have a 1968 Coupe.
