Not Starting...
This topic is very similar to the topic that SolidGas posted not too long ago. I wanted to post a new topic because my situation is a little bit different.
I have a 65 289 4bbl carb- but I don;t have points - I have an electronic ignition. My engine is turning over, but will not start. It starting happeneing the other day. I finally got it started after about 10 tries, and even then it started slow and weak. Once she was running she ran great. But now she wont start at all.
Since I have no points, is there any troubleshooting I can do with the electronic ignition? I'm about to go out and check the choke at the top of the carb. This may sound dumb, but where is the coil located? I'd like to check that, too as Soaring recommended in SoildGas's post.
I'm not the best with engines. But I'd really like to figure this one out on my own without having to take it somewhere. Keep in mind that I might need you to be a tad bit more specific with your descriptions since I'm a total newbie, but I'm willing to learn! Any help would be geat. Thanks in advance!

pop the cap and make sure the gap btwn the high side of the cam in the dist and the module is set right. i think mine is like 30 thousandths and its the crane cams.So thatd be the corner of the rotating thingy that the rotor is on.Look at the dist and the wire from the center, trace that. The cylinder thing it goes to is the coil.
