i want to put a shaker hood scoop on my 70 coup. right now it has a straight 6 under the hood soon to be a 351. can some one explain what the shaker does besides look badass.

fresh air intake directly into the air cleaner and carb via the scoop.

plus it just looks badass

It's not about looking badass guys. It's about getting an immediate and full supply of cold air to the carburetor so that you can add more gas to the mix and have a hotter burn to produce more horsepower. This looks badass crap is teeenagers talk. There is a purpose and reason for theshaker hood,and the reason is not to look badass even though it does.

I know it helps the engine, and that is the main purpose. However, if it looks ghey, I'm not going to get one . . .

350k mile for the price your going to pay to get a reproduction shaker set up you could almost get an aftermarket hood

I dont think it would look good on a 65-68, 69 + ur good with one, but not us early model guys, trust me i thought about it, and grabber blue paint yes, ive been young and stoopid
