haha ive thought about it before too but our cars arnt really muscle cars like the '69+ were...i think that the shelby hood looks good though, im sure you could get a shaker to look alright but not as good as it would on a '69+.

I am just doing some future planning, when I have 8" wide tires, 9" rearend , 375 horsepower 302 and a 5 speed . . .

you guyrs are wrong, the shaker only looks good on a 69/70 car, it wont look good on pre years, and 71-73, they dont need shakers, you know why? they have ram air hoods.

I saw one on a white 66 coupe with blue Lemans stripes, 18" wheels, real low profiletyreswith itty bitty front brakes and stock drums on the rear. The whole package was definately playing for the other team. The shaker just looked so wrong. You'd definately be coming out of the closet if you did that to your car.

Shelby hood scoops are great if functional. I'm not a fan of sticking them on for the look alone. But that means cutting a hole in the hood (then again so does a shaker)

If you just want performace, you can leave your hood intact and do an under hood tray.

great excuse to buy a fiberglass hood
