289 hp numbers

I would assume somewhere in the neighborhood of 10.5 with this set-up.

Yeah.. I still say somewhere in the 270hp range. Although, the pre-'68 shelby's had a HP rating of 306 from the 289. I don't know what the differences where between the 271hp and 306hp engines though.

The shelby had a better intake and a better cam and a bigger carb.

The Shelby had the same solid lifter cam as the 289/271. It was the 715 CFM Holley combined with an improved intake and exhaust that brought it to 306HP.

That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure about it.
