Default What heads?

I dont know much about the diffrent types of heads and whats the deal with them. I do know i want AFR heads, but cant afford it. So my question is what are E-7 heads? Specs and stuff please!

from what i found is E7 heads came on 87-95 5 liter mustangs intake and exhaust valves 1.78/1.46 id look for a set of gt40 or gt40p heads

and the gt 40's can be found on the 97.5 and earlier explorers right?

gt40p i believe those are but yes the explorer and mustang cobra used them

97.5 and down is GT-40's in the explorers, 97.5 and up is the GT-40P's

i dont know what year they started the GT-40's, but if i remember the casting number is a F3 (1993). so definately later than a 1993.......

Yeah, I refuse to put out 15 hunnerd or so greenbacks to get AFR heads too. If I ever have to change heads on Ol'Yeller I'm going to the junk yard and pull some gt40's for a ton less than new heads, then have them machined.

ok more research puts the GT-40's as 96-97.5 and the P's are 97.5-01

the P's are better but your gonna run into header/spark plus issues

In '98 I bought my wife a new Mustang GT because it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the Porsche 911 that she also liked. The Mustang was fun and sporty but it still wasn't a Porsche.
