I would have, without a doubt, beat the living ***t out of him. It's bad enough to drive your own car drunk, but when you do it in someone elses, that's just plain disgusting. I don't blame your parents for wanting you out of the house when he comes over, I'd be super pissed to. What a jackass. Good luck with solving this unfortunate problem.

My advice is to chill out and let your parents handle everything. It is only a car and not worth pissing yourfuture away by seeking physical retribution. [sm=badidea.gif]

Hopefully you're just venting and will feel better once it is fixed. Good luck!

Very sorry to hear about your misfortune. Small claims is the best way to go. Get estimates and lots of pics. He owes you:

All damages to your car
All services such as detail and alignment
Impound fees
Stolen tool kit value
Cost of transportation while your car was being repaired

Man, I'm sorry to hear about this incident. I can only imagine how you feel.

My guess is that this guy hasn't returned your calls because he has a LOT to worry about right now (i.e. DUI) and your car is only one of them. I'd try and stay in front of him to get your car repaired. He's going to have a lot of bills in the near future...you don't want to be standing in line behind his legal team.

Someone mentioned it above, but perhaps make a claim with your insurance company and let them go after him. At the very least, it takes you out of the equation. Did he have a business repairing cars or was he fixing this on the side? I only ask because he may have covereage (although this definitely falls into the "gross negligence" category).

Good luck.
