Yeah, I've read that a lot of people don't like the Edelbrock carbs. This is the first carburated car I've really messed with, and it sounded like Edelbrock is the way to go for ease of use and general boneheadedness

Gathering opinions on Edelbrock vs. Holley is akin to asking about Ford vs. Chevy. Many will argue the merits of one, many the other, but some will recognize the merits of both and express the fact that either may be better than the other depending on the application.

From my own personal experience, my dynotuner tuned my brand spanking new Holley Street Avenger 670 on my new engine and got it working pretty good. However, he stated that for the particulars of my engine, I would get better performance out of the Edelbrock Thunder AVS 650. Being the good boy that I am and taking the advice of the professional that I hired, I went and got the Edelbrock even though the Holley only had 20 miles on it. Sure as the day is long, that Edelbrock worked night and day better on my engine than the Holley did.

The tuner could explain the reasons in great detail, none of which I can remember other than the adjustability of the secondaries, but he was spot on with his advice. FWIW, I've always been a "Holley guy" and poo-pooed Edelbrocks, but this was an eye openinglesson on not being so brand loyal.

YMMV! Good luck!
