Default Engine Upgrade

I have a 68 Mustang with a 302 2Vand a 4 speed trannyparts car ,which runs great, that i am using to swap into my 68I6.Ive read all the posts on this swap soI know what im in for . My Question is what would be the best bet for getting some additional horse power out of it. Nothing too radical just basically "bolt on" stuff.

Thanks

This is a subject that is talked about a lot around here. You can go cheap but you will always want more power.Dont start putting a 4 bbl carb on until you have an engine that will do something with it.The heads will have to be upgraded, the cam will have to be upgraded. You can switch to roller rockers anytime to free up some friction. They will always be there to put on any new heads in the future.Headers and dual exhaust, same thing.
If you are going to try to get going faster you will have to pull the engine and rebuild it properly.Your oil pump and pan are too small to keep up to 6000rpms.You have to plan for doing this stuff.New cams require new cam bearings.Hard to do.Best left to machine shop.
The rule is how much money do you want to spend when it comes to bigger power.A little is cheap, once you get the bug ooooooh ya.

Alrighty sounds good I just got some bad news, Seems the guy who was going to sell me the parts car changed his mind because his wife wants to keep it. Arghhhhh. Where the heck can you find a parts car in Upstate New York.
