Default Building your own engine help

I seen this topic in another thread but i need to know the complete details on how to build your own engine. For example, where to buy a bare block from and what to do with it to get it over 400 hp. Any help is appreciated. I am considering doing this for my 67 coupe.

Go buy Tom Monroe's book. 'How to rebuild Small-Block Ford Engines'. It is very complete and informative.

Try this book, it is a pretty good starter book, it covers a lot of stuff.

a monkey in a wheelchair can assemble an engine, but until you know about the inner workings of an engine and how to make it behave the engine wont be ideal, you have to tell the engine what you want it to do not let it do its own thing...

btw easttennmotors specializes in ford small/big block 1 off engines specializing in 289/302 race engines
