Go to college, get a career job, buy a house, start a family, then buy a hole in the garage to pour your money into. Owning a classic mustang is not something that a poor kid can afford.

sure there are better flowing heads for the clevland, but whe i got my car, it sure as hell was no dog, with just a little throttle it would move fairly quickly, then under a load, you can hear it, in fact everyone can hear it and before you no it your going 97MPH and your 5 miles down the road. point is if you cant handle that, stick with a 289, parts are cheaper and the engine is easier. i got a 4v cleveland because my dad had the same engine in his mustang, he told me it was a frucking sweet engine and had immense power. and i wanted to make it like his old one, iksney the methanol injectors

o yea and im not broke, i have a steady income, make at least a grand a month with my part time, and always have 3k in the bank. its expensive to own these cars

Well, I can tell you first hand that a 351C in a 68 coupe is fun car to drive
I've got a 68 coupe with a 351C 2v heads, upgraded with an Edelbrock Performer intake and Holley 4v Carb. The throttle response is incredible... The Clevelands give a LOT of Torque. Other than the intake and carb, the engine is basically stock.

As already mentioned, the Cleveland block is a lot wider than a windsor. Changing spark plugs is not fun, really tears up the knuckles, but well worth it in my opinion.

I can tell you two guys don't have a girlfriend? When I was at UT Austin back in the 60's I carried a nickel in my left pocket and never spent it. That way, I was never flat broke. And much of the time, that was all the money I had, so I know what it's like beingin school and trying to make some change with odd jobs.

Well thank you all very much for your input. I value it greatly. Only I might not have to wait till I've got a steady income for it. My dad told me a few days ago that if he thinks I'm a "good investment" for baseball when I'm 18 then he'll buy my car for me. YAY. My brother has a 2000 mustang, I don't know what it's got but it's a beast. Anyway the price was 10 grand. He paid 3g and my dad paid 7g and told him he'd have to pay it back. Then on his high school graduation, my dad's gift to him was taht he did'nt have to pay it back. So for graduation my bro basically got 7g.

Does your brother's car have a GT on the front fenders. It it does, then he has a 4.6 liter 16 valve EFI engine. Now drive that car, and think about almost twice the power, and you can then imagine driving my 03 Mach 1.
