I always jack mine up just forward of the front door jamb, and place the jackstand on the framerail aft of the front wheels....about 3" back before it transitions upward.

I use 4 jack stands, 2 under the rear axle housing and 2 under each front subframe. The jack can go either under each lower control arm in the front or under the torque box and under the rear center section for the rear. Just be sure the surface you're working on is stable. (ie concrete or some other hard flat surface) I've known several people that werekilled when the car they were working on - with jackstands - fell over and pinned them.

It basically is. Plan where you're going to place the jackstand on the framerail, and then place the back far enough back to clear your path to insert the jackstand.

Hello.Put the jackstand in the area of the green circle and have the jack lifting the car in the area of the red circle. This is a 66 model car, but the underside of yours will be similar enough to get the things located safely. Having never seen your car, I would advise that you proceed with caution. People do all sorts of funny things to their car, and I would hate to hear about you falling prey to the dreaded Previous Owner. Hope that helps.

Good pics... note her's has torque boxes and your may not. The frame rail may just be a stand alone rail.

That happened to me when i was working on my dads van the torque boxes have these rubber pads that say place jackstand here...well i did and it slipped and the van came crashing down, this was when i was changing the rotors so it didnt have the tires..i got lucky that there was a small ditch i was able to get my foot out and i wasnt harm...that was the last time i did any work on dirt.

VeronicScz's pic of the location should be in FAQ.
We see this asked a lot, and could save someone from some of these accidents we read about.
