jacking locations

just dont jack it up by the oilpan [:@]i hated when dumb dicks do that

the gas tank is just as bad

the rearend is safe, as are any framerails, the radiator support is ok if there isnt an engine, never tried with the engine in but idk if i would risk it

If you are jacking up by the frame rail, use a small block of wood between the jack and theframe railto help distribute the load. Otherwise you can tear or dent the frame.

Hi again.That would depend on what type of jack is being used. If he has a regular floor jack, that won't damage the frame rail. The problem with using a piece of wood is that, once you start to get the car up high enough to put the jackstand under it, the car is at an angle extreme enough to slip a little and kick the piece of wood back into your face, and whileyou're over to the side, rubbing your forehead, seeing stars and cursing,the caris trying to fall off of the jack.Not a lot of fun.Granted, that doesn't happen very often, but once is more than enough.
