Trunk goes CLUNK!
Hey guys, I was curious about what may be causing what sounds like my trunk area to make a loud clunk whenever I go over a large bump in the road. It's definitely worse when people ride in the back but it is present even with just a driver. My dad said when he rode in his friend's mustang when he was younger that his car made the same sound. Can this be fixed and is it something I should worry about?

Maybe I can try pushing hard down on the trunk when it's parked to see if I can replicate that. I'll have to check tomorrow but was just curious if this was just a mustang trait. I'll get back with some more specifics soon though.

I had same issue it was the rear axle vent the one that holds the brakeline on as well hitting the exhaust pipe on my dual exhaust check to see a dimple in the exhaust on that side, PO suck is what i say

I do have the stock tire and clamp but no jack in the trunk and that did cross my mind (I have AAA and maybe since I don't have a jack, a spare tire won't do me much good!). Not sure about the shock type though. Be back later.

Air shocks make noises like that somethimes. You running those? Sounds like a shock absorber noise in any event.

never run air shocks if you have them more than likely the shock has busted the floor pan and its popping in and out of where its supposed to fit
