Default Window crank install

OK - I know how to install the window crank on my '65, I just don't know how to keep it installed.
The '65 has the clip system to keep it on, mine keeps falling off. I've pushed it on real hard to make sure that it gets to the grooved area but it keeps coming loose.
Any tips?

Have the same problem on mine. Start by trying a new retaining clip. If that doesn't work, try seeing if the other window crank works on that side. If that one stays on, you need a new crank.... if not you need anew shaft assembly.

Odd. I have a 65 and my cranks have an allen wrench screw that hold them on. Does this mean that mine aren't the right ones?

Someone may correct me here, but I believe that early 1965 had a retainer clip for the window crank. My 1965 is early 65 and has the same cranks described above.

My 65 is an early one and has the clips - I just wish they would stay in place.

You are correct.

Hello. The 64 1/2 and early 65s had the clip style window cranks and door handles. The way to get them to stay on is to, with the handle in your hand, put the clip onto the handle and then squish the clip with some pliers on the back side so that the two ends are closer together. You should be able to see the bump on the both clip legs through the hole in the handle that goes onto the window regulator post.Hope that helps.

I have a 68 and the handles don't have a screw, or a spot for the allen ranch, so I'm assuming they're the same as what your talking about, but I can't figure out how to get them off! It's driving me nuts, any suggestions?

Your 68 window handle's screw is under the 'decorative' aluminum disc.
