engine oil
Tell me what you think,,, I was doing an "experiment" balancing the low cost of a chevy rebuild/replacement against oil change costs...
Bought a 90 chevy P/u new, ran the break in oil to 87,000 miles, (I did change the filter once or twice), After 87,000 miles the oil was changed a few times. The engine continued to run, and run very well until we removed the engine 2 years ago,(190,000 miles), to be replaced with a ZZ4.
About a year ago, my brother in law blew his 350 in his firechicken. We put this engine in, where it is still running, and is still running very well.... He has been running the engine for about a year without issue....
Am I "lucky" that way or what?????
<<edit,,, on further thought,, never did change the filter before 87,000 miles, the factory "black" filter was removed at this change.
