i took the edelbrock carb off my car and took it apart and found some good stuff....like numbers which i looked up on the net, its edelbrocks performer series big boy mass power no gas mileage carb. and i also examend the jets , and guess what...........They've been BORED for a dirt track car. 5 mpg (this explains it) I also found that i need a new intake gasket or something, sounds like an exhaust leak, but its not.
2) Now i still have those damn fairlane headers on my car and they are rubbing the powersteering thing by the wheels and stuff, so i need a bracket for this that will drop it out of the way, and a set of new headers.
3) i also need a new intake to help me get rid of that annoying clicking, cuz its ANNOYING, but it stops at about 48mph then it goes away.....any ideas on this?
4) now a tranny ?. i've got a c5 tranny with a c4 shift kit and a 3500 stall converter on the car now, but sometimes when i try to go it goes into snail mode and just crawls for a while until i hit about 20-30mph. WTF?
5)any other input i can get that is meaningful throw it in.

I'm thinking your in line for a new carb.
sounds like an exhaust leak, but its not
Sometimes this can be a need to adjust valves. Sound is similar to exhaust leak. I do not have experience with an intake manifold gasket leakmaking a clicking sound. I really do not understand how a new intake manifold will help this problem. Hold a long screw driver with one end near your ear and the other near the sound to localize where the sound is comming from. You'll be doing this with the engine running so be careful of the fan and belts.

Why do you need both? I have JBA shorty headers, expensive but no drop bracked needed.
now a tranny ?
Solve the other problems first, then let us know. If you need to replace the trans, investigate upgrading to an AOD.

so you didnt have to replace the powersteering thing by the wheel? Could you get some pics for me?

There are three hydraulic compontents to the power steering,
1) the pump on the front of the engine, I'm sure this is not what you are talking about.
2) the control valve that bolts to the end of the center link and the pitman arm. This is the valve that senses the direction you turned the wheel and directs the hydraulic boost to the power cylinder.
3) the power cylinder bolts to the center link and a bracket mounted to the framenear the wheel. The drop bracket for headers goes between the frame and the stock mounting bracket. This drops the power cylinder allowing headers to pass above the cylinder. It is only needed if there is interference between the headers and the power cylinder. The shorty JBA headers I have were designed to fit with the stock location of the power cylinder.
PM me if you still want that photo.
